Your SHEro's Journey

Thoughts and inspiration to nourish your soul and support you on your own SHEro's Journey

Crystals to support you as we cycle through the phases of the moon

Crystals to support you as we cycle through the phases of the moon

As we move through the ebb and flow of the moon cycle, you go on your very own monthly SHEro's Journey.

We've been following this journey, and aligning ourselves with the moon energies, so that we can support and super-charge our manifestation intentions.

As we move through each stage of the Journey, we can use the mineral kingdom to ease the transitions, and enhance the energy available to us.

Here are the crystals that I've chosen for each stage of the Journey.

The Aquarius New Moon - Embrace your eccentricities and start your revolution

The Aquarius New Moon - Embrace your eccentricities and start your revolution

On the 8th of January (in the UK) we are joined by the Aquarius New Moon.

I particularly like this moon, as I’m an Aquarian, although I only just make the date by the skin of my teeth, I am very much as ‘typical’ Aquarian – whatever one of those may be!

Aquarius, also known as the Water Bearer, asks you to consider:

“What wisdom can you share?

Although an Air sign, Aquarius is also known as the Water Bearer. She is often depicted on her knee, pouring water from her jug, symbolising being of service as she freely shares her knowledge by pouring the knowledge over humanity. Key words include:

The Capricorn New Moon - a boring old goat, or is there something more this new moon can offer you?

The Capricorn New Moon - a boring old goat, or is there something more this new moon can offer you?

On the 10th of January we are joined by the Capricorn New Moon.

Capricorn, also known as the Water Goat, asks you to consider:

“Who are you in the world?”

Often people think of Capricorn as being the boring (and possibly stinky) old goat, it’s true that they are responsible and reliable, and like structure, their key words include:

A Ritual For The New Moon - A time to get clear on your vision and set your intentions

A Ritual For The New Moon - A time to get clear on your vision and set your intentions

The New Moon Is The Perfect Time To Rest and tap into your intuition

During this time you can add power to your intentions to create and bring forth your vision by completing a simple ceremony/ritual.

Completing a ritual creates the feeling that something special is happening, it gives magical intention to your wishes. It gets the power of the universe behind creating your deepest desires and a little extra help never went amiss…

Here’s an outline of one I like to do.

You will need:

1 bowl, one suitable to hold water
A little sea or mineral salt
1 bowl, suitable to burn paper in (optional)
Sage for smudging, or suitable cleansing incense
A crystal of your choice
1 candle
A paper and pen

Step 1. Clear your energy

Imagine standing under a silver waterfall and allow all negative energies to be washed away.

Step 2. Create a sacred space

Find a quiet place to sit, declutter and clean, you might like to place crystals or other special items around you, or cleanse the room with some incense.

Step 3. Become present

Become fully present in your body.

Become aware of every part of your body.

Bring awareness to your breathing.

Step 4. Connect to the elements

Earth: Hold your chosen crystal
Fire: Light your candle – I have 2″ candles for this purpose
Air: Light your sage leaves or your incense
Water: Fill a small bowl with water and add some sea salt to it to represent the oceans

Step 5. State your desires

Write down your wishes and desires on a piece of paper.

When you have written them all down, pass the paper through the smudge or incense smoke to clear away any unseen blockages or obstacles. Continue to do this until the energy around your desires feel lighter.

Step 6. Release your desires to the universe

State your wishes and desires out loud for the universe to hear. Feel your desires in your body.

Breathe deep into your heart and declare “I am ready to receive. And it is so.”

Step 7. Let go

Next you can either burn your desires, bury them in the ground or sleep with them under your pillow – do whichever feel right for you.

Step 8. Assimilate

Sit in silence for a while and see if any inspiration comes. You may even want to journal around your thoughts.

Let your candle burn itself out.

Being Eaten By A Wolf - A Story of Initiation and Growth

Being Eaten By A Wolf - A Story of Initiation and Growth

“You know, my dear, it isn't safe for a little girl to walk through these woods alone.” The Wolf

Every good story needs the SHEro to face an ordeal, something where she is given the chance to overcome her fear, or ‘die’. No matter the outcome, the SHEro will be forever changed.

You’re probably familiar with the story of Little Red Riding Hood.

A helpful granddaughter is skipping through the forest to take her poorly Grandma some cake and wine, when she strays from the path and encounters a wolf.

Sherlock isn't the hero, Watson is

Sherlock isn't the hero, Watson is

‘I’m… I’m nobody. I’m with him’ – John Watson

I love the BBC drama Sherlock, it’s about the only TV show that I actually make a point of watching and I’m really looking forward to the next series.

As I’ve watched the series, I realise that even though the show is based on the character Sherlock, and he is amazingly clever, smart and witty, he’s not actually the hero of the show, Watson is.

How to Use the SHEro Signature Blend Loose Incense with Charcoal Discs

How to Use the SHEro Signature Blend Loose Incense with Charcoal Discs

After some pretty surreal experiences over the weekend, I was reminded to clear the energy of my home.

What better incense to use than The SHEro Signature blend.

It contains: Frankincense, Rosemary, White Sandalwood, Myrrh, and my personal favourite: Benzoin.

I wish the screen was scratch and sniff as it's delicious! Warming, relaxing, you can literally feel stress melting away.

I like to use charcoal discs. Over the years, I've had many people ask me how to use them.

Often making the same mistake I made when I first started using them - and that is not waiting long enough before adding the incense.

Yes I am a little impatient, and I would add the loose incense before the charcoal disc went grey.

Using Charcoal discs

Simply:

  1. Place the charcoal disc in a suitable, fire-proof, container

  2. Light the disc - ideally with a long match or something with a long reach. Place the flame on the outer edge of the disc. If using matches, it can take several goes to get it lit.
You'll know that it's lit, as it will start to spark slightly.

  3. Wait about 5 mins for the disc to go grey. It will start to glow red, and then gradually work inwards, until the disc goes grey.

  4. Add your loose incense to the charcoal - not too much as the charcoal needs to breathe to be able to burn.

  5. Continue to add more incense for as long as you like.

On this occasion, as my incense was in a mini-cauldron, I then wafted it around the house - and guess what?
Everything felt lighter!

Sometimes it's easy to forget the obvious sometimes...
